Not sure if you have searched the Voters list for the 1961-1962- surname Fraser or not?? It is a long shot I know -but worth a try- Perhaps there were Fraser families living nearby by your adopted family ??

The Voters list is available under the Census link on Ancestry- I think is runs from 1935-1980 ?

Also you could browse through some of the Fraser obits in your area..Again a long shot but worth a a try:

I would also put a posting under Ontario message board > Ottawa or Renfrew- as not many people would look here..You might get more helpers if you post on the Ontario board.
