My mother was born during the second world war to an unknown father(war baby). We do not have his name but do know that he tried to get custody of my mother through the courts in the Yorkshire area somewhere between 1944 - 1949. I have tried unsuccessfully to access court records using my mothers and grandmothers names.

My mothers name(child): Denise Bartlett born July 1944
Her mothers name: Phoebe Doreen May Bartlett (maiden name Burnigham)

If anyone has any suggestions on how I could further research I would be grateful
