Brian, do you have a copy of your original birth record? Try to get a copy of your adoption records. You will be surprised by what information these kind of records contain. Also talk with your adopted family to see what they might have been told or remember.

One thing to think about is were you the only one to be adopted or did you have other siblings?

DNA is a good source...especially DNA of the Y as it is passed from the father's line
