Update.. Was told by my grandmother that George was indeed adopted by Alfredo Parra. Proof is in the census of 1940 Orange grove, Jim wells county, TX. It actually says adopted son.

Still unclear as to why he was later put in care of the Perez family. Proof Census Jim wells 1930 for Patricio Perez and Victoria Perez. Shortly after Victoria passed away and Patricio returned George to Alfredo.

Another story told to me by my grandmother was that my grandfather served his country. She says she has the discharge papers to prove it. Returning home George was told by Alfredo he had disgraced the family name. He was no longer allowed to use the last name Parra, so basically he was disowned. Explains why my GF was Perez and not Parra.
