I saw your postings over the last days and offer my encouragement to you. I immediately pictured your mother sitting down in a chair, many times, going over in her mind, every possible detail that has happened to her, and possibly to you, during all these many years. I see her treading in a journey that is a dynamic of time passing. During this mental journey, not quite soul-searching but more an introspective inventory of strength, is what will convince her that seeing you is truly a possibility. I urge you to keep in mind, your mom has been separated from you for many years and is just recently faced with a mental search of herself that cannot be done in a day or a week. I'm hoping for you that your energy will remain in reserve while you idle in high gear. The time will come when your calm and composure may be the deciding factor.

I like the idea of your finding your brother; however, I believe I would use that brother as an influence to talk with mom. Should he be able to speak for you to her, an intermediatary party may be the best type of meeting. Perhaps he could relay a personal message, arrange a conference call, by means mom could listen and feel comfortable as to not be alone and subject to recriminations before she has been accepted by you. Perhaps she doesn't know the initial words.

I see quite a bit here that you are not so much her problem as she is her problem. It's her outlook and mentality that has to adjust, not yours. You are eager, anticipatory, hopeful, generous, and devoted. She may be finding it hard to feel worthy of such loving generousous.
