WWII Draft - Exempted Status

I know an archive of draft registration was kept IF a male was drafted during WWII and reported for training / duty, however, is there an archival record of those men who applied for exempted and approved for exempted status? I also know that the exempt status was periodically reviewed the original request for exemption updated or were the additional reviews kept separately and is there an archival record of that as well?

Background, my grandfather, Wilmer Koons Kriebel, was employed by the state of Pennsylvania - he worked for the state penitentiary (spelling?) - and I believe that, that employment provided for his exemption form military duty during WWII.

I am wondering if I might be able to obtain a record of his initial draft, the request for exemption and whatever comments / discussion that the reviewing authority may have had to determine whether to approve or deny my grandfather's request. And, of course, it goes without saying that if additional reviews were conducted to determine whether he still met the exemption requirements, I'd like to obtain a record of those as well.

Who do I address or how do I go about requesting and receiving the documentation in question?

Appreciate any advise or guidance you might be able to give.
