He went into the military in 1911 and was discharged in 1916. He was wounded and discharged because of it. He also received a pension for himself and his family. I don't think he went overseas after his discharge as a soldier. There is a service record for him and medals.

There was a Mrs Hoare and three children who went overseas in 1919. Two females and one male (Adult female, two female and one male child.) That would account for her three children. They left London England and were to land in Bombay India. They were listed under Govt. and British possession as the country of last possession. If it was them.

There was a lot of things happening in 1919 in and around Afghanistan and India. You had the Amistar Massacre . It involved a great many military personal from The UK and India. It lasted from 6 May 1919 to an armistice on 8 Aug 1919. The Afghans were very under prepared.

Come to think of it. they did mention that a lot of the troops were your home based troops. The
UK was winding down and finishing WWI. It involved ultimately a lot of troops from UK. A Mrs Hoare and three children went over 10 Apr 1919.

I don't think the military would be sending his wife over if he were going to be stationed over there. he probably if he went over. It was probably as a civilian Military consultant or adviser. They were short on manpower in the Afghan Massacre when it started. He definitely would have been helpful if he was an NCO (Sgt.). They needed I would imagine every man that they could get together.

I can't really see him going. It is according to the wounds he received when he was in the Army the first time. They needed experience people who were capable of fighting. It all depends on the injuries he received and how well they might have healed at that time and of course if he was able to handle it. Danny
