he called alice delilah ford butler, 'mom', when he had enlisted in WWI,1917, he came to see her dressed in his new uniform. alice had married wm francis butler [1900?] and lived in glade,Webster County,WV.
Alice was also called 'mom' by a susanna mullins, no relation, and a mary blankenship, no relation, and a lizzie...?...

[used the name alice 'workman' as her mother married a workman and she and five sisters until adulthood/marriage, were to use the stepdad's surname: Raymond Shanton Workman].
