Thank you for your assistance. I know that the family resided in Neath, Wales before the immigrated to the US in 1854. One thing that I know is that in the 1841 census, his occupation is only listed as a sawyer. In the 1851 census his occupation is listed as sawyer and Greenwich Pensioner. Do you think that would indicate that in 1841 he was still in the service? He would have bee approximately 52 at the time.
