No worries about the Corporal mix-up, I just hope you weren’t too disappointed.
Other than what I found on the web [eg at
http://www.wyevalley.worldonline.co.uk/historypolice.htm ] I don’t know much about the Palestine Police Force or it’s records.
The British Empire and Commonwealth Museum at Bristol Meads Bristol appears to hold a collection of records covering about 8000 former members of the PPF, see
http://www.empiremuseum.co.uk/aboutus/museumarchives.htm for full address. A guide - the Prospectus of the Archival Collections held at the Museum - is being updated but an old copy can be found at
http://www.empiremuseum.co.uk/pdf/archives/archives_collecti.... It also mentions other records [card records] at St Antony’s College Middle East Centre Archive, Oxford. When you open the pdf file use find [binoculars icon] and type in palestine police to locate the description of the item [page 26].
Rather confusingly a “Your Archives” description page at
http://yourarchives.nationalarchives.gov.uk/index.php?title=... mentions personnel records being held in Scotland – in the 1st instance I should contact the BECM and ask them about any records and that Scottish link.
If he was part of the military, either before or during his time with the PPF, then those records should be with the MoD and being next of kin you can obtain copies [if your father or mother are still alive they will not incur a charge, but you will]. See the Veterans’ Agency site at
http://www.veterans-uk.info/ and click on service records.
Hope this helps,
good luck Jeff
