Question: My Justin McCarty enlisted in PA and fought in the battles of Brandywine and Long Island. He mustered out of Falls Point MD. A fellow researcher inquired about Justin at the PA National Archives and they found no record of him as a PA soldier. Would he be considered a PA soldier or would it depend on the military district he was in? Does anyone know what district those battles were in? Might they have been Maryland's military district, since that is where he mustered out? I just don't know where to look to find proof of his service. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
