In my case, the I-M253 traces back to the other side of the Atlantic. I probably belong to a Holcomb line. With the second I-M253 group, Conquest Wyatt should go back to Rev. Haute Wyatt, but it looks like an NPE broke the line.
I agree the correct line for the Sir Thomas Wyatt's and Rev. Haute Wyatt is not known for sure, but it looks like it is in Haplogroup R1b. Things would be a lot easier to sort out if people put down who they could reasonably prove as the most distant male ancestor, rather than who they want to prove.
I'm curious how far back R1a and R1b separated.
I wish people in the Y-study would do the autosomal DNA tests, too. It's been very helpful to me in proving my line up to 300 years back.
