Well, in answer to my own query, the evidence can be found in a deed from William and wife, Susan, to his brother Jason. He mentions land he got from his father, James. Date: Nov 1892: Rutherford County Deed book 66, p. 60. "It being land given to Jason & William Withrow by their father James Withrow deceased."
