I guess that makes us distant cousins. :)
I wish I did have more pictures. The one I have is a scan of a tin that was found with my aunts things when she passed. All I know about my great grandfather Thomas Williamson is that he worked in the engine room on the ships that brought the immigrants. There was an explosion and he was seriously burned on his arm. He was admitted to a hospital in New York and when he recovered he decided to stay in America.
My mother said he used to drive my grandmother (his sons wife) nuts with that car of his. You could hear it coming a good 5 minutes before he arrived.
His daughter Rita was mentally handicapped and lived with him until he passed. She then moved in with her sister May and Mays husband Thomas. I have a few vague memories of them. They lived in Bayridge in a blue house with a big back yard that had a chain link fence on the sides and a wooden fence in the back. They had 2 daughters.
My mother tells my that Thomas passed in January of 1971. She was about to get out of the hospital after delivering my brother when my grandfather showed up to tell her he came into town for the funeral.
I am trying to get my mothers brothers and sisters to cooperate with info and pics. If I locate any I will let you know.
I do know that my grandmother (daughter in law of Thomas) Kept in touch with the Williamson family in England, Ireland and Australia until she passed in 1986. She sent those relatives photographs of our side so some one somewhere has pictures and they probably have no idea who is in them. lol
