Mrs. Widener died March 20, 2006 at the Ozark Health Nursing Home in Clinton, where she also resided. She was born October 12, 1927 in Arlberg, AR, the eldest of eight children of Joe Jackson Bonds and Myrtha Arizona (Lee) Bonds. She married the late Floyd Newton Widener on February 23, 1946. He died July 3, 1982. Mrs. Widener was a retired employee of ConAgra and was a member of Pee Dee Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Merl Eoff (Bill) of Clinton and Fran Kirkendoll (Gary) of Marshall; six granddaughters, five great-grandsons and seven great-granddaughters; her three sisters, Imogene Fulmer of Conway, Merle Sutterfield of Fox, and Pat Ward of Atkins; three brothers, J.C. Bonds and Jessie Bonds of Fox, and Mack Bonds of Conway. She was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Jo Brazear. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at the Pee Dee Baptist Church, with Brother Don Mulford, Pastor Kyle Blanton, and Minister Benton Allen, Jr., officiating. Funeral arrangements were by Roller-McNutt of Clinton. Interment was at Pee Dee Cemetery where her mother and father are also buried. Pallbearers included Hubert Moore, Kenneth Keeling, Terry Kirkendoll, Toby Hendrix, Joe Paul Henderson, James Eoff, Braxton Smith, Steven Blake Hunt, and Seth Hunt.
