Would like to learn more about early Warners in Illinois and Kentucky: John w. Warner (and his son William) were of Scots-Irish descent. According to family legend, John Warner was born in Old DuQuoin IL around 1829 (his parents were _possibly_ James and Julia Warner). John was supposedly a riverboatman who sired a son William Wallace Warner ca. 1852 (in Missouri?). William W.'s mother was said to be Indian and she died at or shortly after her son's birth. John took the infant to be raised by his sister (LouEllen or Luella Flagg or Fagg) in Shawneetown IL. The Warners (father and son) eventually settled in Kentucky (Muhlenberg and Hopkins Counties).
