According to what I have found, his father started a business in France and had moved from England to France. William was then born in France and then Fled to New Jersey from the persuction of the Huguenots. Fancy name for Protestant.

I am a Waddington from the Philadelphia, PA area and have the lineage from this William Waddington from 1650. Then I have traced back to William Waddington b 1850 in New Jersey. However I cannot seem to connect the two trees.

Family lore says there were two brothers in Salem New Jersey who split because one married a catholic. Also that there were some Quaker influences as well.

If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated.
