Its possible. I have suggestions that David's wife was born in several different states and I think Indiana might have been one of them. No idea what county he was born in or even if he was born in the Virginia of today, or in the Virginia of that time which included West Virginia.

A large part of what I have on them came from a bio that appeared in a book published in 1917. Freeman was a bit of a big deal in Nebraska so he made the history books. It can be found on my tree at http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/15005548/person/18006981112/m...

But the bio brings up a couple of questions. He seems to have done a lot in a short period of time. The bio states that in his younger days he was a plantation overseer (not sure where, I've always assumed in Virginia) then next thing you know he's a riverboat captain on the Mississippi, which he gave up on 1844 after "high water swept away his land." It also states he was the captain of several boats. But if he was born in 1810 (or thereabouts) he would have been about 34 years old when he quit the river. That strikes me as being a bit young to have been a plantation overseer then worked his way up to riverboat captain, and captained SEVERAL boats.

As to the marriage, I have a suspect marriage record in Madison County Illinois. It states that David M. Tucker married Hannah Mize. Everything I have says that Hannah's maiden name was Grammar (spellings vary.) I can think of a couple of scenarios where it would fit, but it would require a greater leap pf faith than I'm willing to make without a little more to tie it together. I have one thing helps tie it together but even that is a little thin. Freeman's sister Martha married a prominent man who also made the history books in Nebraska. A mention of him stated that his wife was "from Madison County Illinois." I take that "from" to be a bit ambiguous. I don't have any definitive records of the family until I see them living in Jersey County. But they COULD have been referring to her place of birth. IF what I suspect is correct, then she would indeed have been born in Madison. But again, its not quite strong enough for my liking to actually include it in my tree, because that would mean changing information that I have from actual documents that are for a fact, tied to my ancestors.
