This is my 5th great grand-father and I have the same problem finding his definite birth place. Have you been able to gain any definite information? I have been able to trace from Zachariah Sr to Zachariah Jr, moving to Spencer Mtn, NC and his son James, to his son George Washington S. in Spartanburg, SC and grave in Walker County, GA, and his son William Henry S. and grave in Walker County, GA, to my grand-father Elnathan Erasmus, S. in Walker County, GA &TN to my father from Walker County, GA and buried in TN.
