As to my wife's Spencer ancestors...
I believe James Spencer's father was Zacharia Spencer (wife unknown). James 1760-1847 was married only once, that I know of...in 1803 to Sarah Abbott. They had 14 children and lived in Spartanburg, SC. Three of their children were:
John N. Spencer 1829-1884
James Spencer Jr b?-- d 1847
Sarah M. Spencer 1817-1861 married to Elias F. Sosebee (my wife's ancestors).
Do you have the names and dates for the 14 kids? Do you have anything on Zacharia and his bride and their ancestors?
