Jesse Simmons is my 5th great grandfather. My grandmother was Nannie Alpha Simmons Martin, who descended from her father, Robert Henderson Simmons, then John Edwin Simmons, then William Coleman Simmons, then John Simmons, then Jesse Simmons.

There is a marriage record for Jesse Simmons to Nancy Tilley Hawkins on 7 Sep 1808. This was the second marriage for both of them. Nancy had previously married William Hawkins, and together they had 6 children. Jesse had 5 children with his first wife, the last of which was born about 20 years before Jesse married Nancy. Jesse was about 61 when he married Nancy. They had no children together.

My question is, does anyone know the name of Jesse's first wife? I've seen many family trees on ancestry.com with the first name of Mary or Kelly, but no last name for either. And, none of the trees I've seen have any sources or evidence to support those names.
