I am a descendant of Margaret Shore b 6 May 1817 dau of John Shore and Hannah Stafford and d in Nodaway Co MO on 25 Jan 1890. Margaret married James Gibson McNeal on 9 Jan 1840. He was b 15 Feb 1817 in PA and d 13 Dec 1898 in Nodaway Co MO.

I have Margaret and James McNeal's family bible which also list's her brother Abraham Shore's b 24 Aug 1811 and d 18 Feb 1878.

Does anyone have proof of parents fro her father John Shore? I see the same story over and over on the internet that he is the son of John b 1750 on board the ship coming from Germany to another John Shore. "Shore" is not a German name but might be Johan/Johann Schor or Schorr or many other similar variations. and I cannot locate proof of this story or where it originated. Has anyone else had any success?
