greetings from NZ.. our lost family now =150 years .. all b orn at Callan near Kilkenny but move from there after 1840.. parents were thomas shea and nellie miles[born about 1795-1800 ]had 11 chn among whom was my Edmond born in 1829.. arr australia about 1856 as a miner and was in NZ by 1869 when he married Johanna o'sullivan in 1869...they were in san fransisco in 1870 where their first child thomas was born,, He later became archbishop thomas o'shea of NZ.. have only recently found an obit for Johanna in the Cork examiner which says she was from Lahern.... I have the bap records for the 11 chn which also name sponsors..Recent dna results give us exact matches to Borrisoleigh and ballyferriter so maybe the family moved to there.. there is an amazing letter on line from a John Shea to his brother Timothy in Melbourne which DNA say we connect to...
