The John Shaw who m. Alice Phillips was the s/o Abraham Shaw(e) and Bridget Best who came over from Yorkshire ENG with their children in 1635. They (John & Alice) had many children, one of whom was my ancestor, their son, John. There has been much written on these Shaws; you can probably find a lot of info here at ancestry/rootsweb.
