I am praying some of you are still working through this site. I am the great great great Grandaughter of Fred (Fredrick, Fritz, Friedrich) Schwede and Fredricka Schwede. I have census from 1870 on where they are settled as farmers in Town of Texas, Lincoln, Wisconsin. They had 3 Children. "Hattie" born overseas (Prussia or Germany) William and Anna born in Wisconsin. I cannot find immigration or naturalization records for either. Per census they arrived in 1869, married in1864. Nor can I find death records/graves which causes me to question whether they changed their names on arrival. Fred was listed as living with William on the 1910 census, also as widowed, then not in 1920- he must have died between those years. Fredricka on the 1905 wi census, but not the 1910.
My Grandma (Williams son Charles' daughter) has it written down that Fredricka's maiden name was Lietzke, but I am unsure the accuracy of this. Hattie married a John Gaulke, William married a Bertha Salzwedal and Anna had a child (Laurence) prior to getting married to Jacob Heller. She had a daughter (Ruth) and died awhile later. I cannot find her grave or death record either. I live within an hour of where they settled, but have not searched records there or grave sites.
