I'm doing DNA Genealogy on the line of Jeremias (b.1639) Shrecongast <multi-varient spellings> and would like to have DNA samples from males in his line.

This would be be the line of Johann Jost Shrecongast and his sons who immigrated here on the Ship Polly in 1764 -- and established themselves in Pennsylvania and Ohio before spreading across the country.

I would also be interested in any other Schreck lines -- probably from Wittgenstein Germany area, with possible arrivals in the early 1800's ; maybe even into twentith century.

The basic sample is free (I only need 12 markers for my study and a genealogy which dates to the 1800's). the participation kits can be obtained at www.SMGF.org; they are conducting a broad based project which I am piggy-backing on.

If you are planning to join the project please go to the site and then let me know when you've returned the test kit. If you would just like to share paper trail data, please free to contact me.

The test is simple, just a mouthwash -- takes 30 seconds -- they will provide a pedigree form where you identify ancestors and dates (if you know them). Drop it in the postage paid return mailer and that's it.

Females can have their mtDNA done, but, obviously that has nothing to do with the male side of a surname line.

A last fact of possible interest -- so far it appears Jeremias had an unusual marker -- somewhat rare; and the name was an invention based upon facts being revealed by the study.

Thank you all,
Bill
