Marianne Burczynska Schmidt from Koparzyn, Prussia enlisted the help of Edward Hohl (Beaver Dam, Dodge Co.) to find her husband Christoph Schmidt in 1869. Christoph was known to have been in Michigan, and the notice includes the request to German newspapers in Detroit, Buffalo and throughout Michigan to honor the custom of reciprocal publishing.
