Frederick and Theodore were very popular names for Schmidts.My fathers middle name was Theodore and his fathers name was Frederick Theodore. I believe they originally came from Hesse also, where Fredericks father John was born. I can't help you much except that it seems alot of them settled in Spencer Co, Indiana and fsmily members continue to live there.Have you found this out in your line? My father was an only child and not involved with his relatives, so past that I can't help, I wish I could.
