I forgot. George is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence -- but you may have found that out by now. He was killed at Westport and his men, most particularly, Dick Maddox, George Shepherd, Dave Poole, etc., and Jesse James. In fact, it was Jesse who pulled a gun on the Man who took care of the cemetery and refused to allow them to bury the 'killer and damned bushwacker" in his plot. Jesse's pulls his gun and says, "if he don't go in the ground, you will", and George did. He died Oct 22, 1864. The way it was described by the men who were there seems kind of, romantic.
