I am responding to your message of long ago. May I ask how you are related to George Todd. In my research I find he is somewhat of an enigma. The only known facts (???) well, consistent stories, I should say, is that George Todd was born in Scotland and moved to Canada with his father who was a civil engineer, as well as a brother. Some say the reason is that young George killed a man back home. Both of the Todds were literally Masons. No info arises if George if George practiced the "Code of the Masons", like Bill Gregg or John Jarrette, who would let Fed soldiers go rather than kill them on the spot -- which was a direct order from Quantrill.

George said he had married his brother's widow to keep her from marrying a Yankee. George never said he if had children or not, most historians believe, not. He left his wife in Canada and went to MO with his father to build some bridges (some of which he refused to burn -- per Quantrill's orders) and are still standing today. Maybe George left his wife pregnant... can you enlighten me?
