My husband John is descended from Susan or Susannah Roots, d/o George and Mary of Camberwell, she was an older sister of your ancestor Herbert. Susannah married William Sheppard in 1882, at Camberwell. William came from Aldbourne in Wilts and Susannah died there in 1902, she was buried at Baydon near Aldbourne.

John's grandmother was Florence Emma Sheppard, d/o William and Susannah, Florence came to Australia in 1913. Another sister, Hilda Mary Sheppard, also came to Australia and the two families lived quite close to one another.
