I don't know what port of entry they came through. There was a whole bunch of Germans who came to Louisville about the same time. All of us are hunting their port of entry. One Allsmiller (not ours) was found coming in through New Orleans.

In Germany, there is a whole Ploetner genealogy group/club or whatever you call it. They even have a Ploetner genealogy book -- but you can get that on the internet (I did) It's really interesting. It even tells what our name means etc. I won't tell you and ruin the surprisse (unless you want to know)
