I have information about this man and his family and would like to know how we connect to him. We are descended from several Williams to Samuel to William Lucas who I first trace in Mendocino county, California. This William was a Major in the 144th Regt. of the New York Vol. Inf. and served in the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War. Born Aug. 17, 1824 in New Brunswick, Canada the eldest of nine children. William, Jane, Peter, James Edmund, John, Joseph H., Martha L., and 2 girls died in infancy. His parents were Joseph and Lucretia Wallace Plaskett and Joseph's parents were William and Sara Wren Plaskett. Many of his family ended up in Sutter, Glen, Yuba and surrounding counties and there is a Plaskett Meadows in Glenn county where one of the ranches were. My William Lucas according to stories I have heard, had a rift of some kind with the family and split for the coast and south to Monterey. I have much more info. But I am running out of time online here. My email address is
KCBehnke@aol.com if you want to write me direct. Thanks!
