I have a sheet of paper headlining the "Piers" family and starts out with AD 1500, Gerard Piers of Piers Hall, Ingleby, York who had a son Richard.
Richard Piers had a son - Capt. William Piers who for having saved Queen Elizabeth from the rage and fury of her sister Mary was sent by her to Ireland in 1566.
This goes on right up to others, ending with Lady Piers who died in 1862 in Italy.
