I'm afraid I may have the wrong Russell Pier, he spelled his name with 2 ls as far as I know, but some census reports list him as Russel Pier. He was my great-grandfather. I never met him. He died in 1956 if it's the correct one. He was born in 1888 in Wayne, Michigan. My mother never got a chance to meet him due to an ugly family dispute.

Again, I don't think this is the correct one, but maybe he was a distant relative to your great-great grandfather. I have no idea if any of my ancestors were Revolutionary War patriots or not.
