Roxanne: I recently saw your post about Thomas Pentland b. 1829 Portadown who was later in Canada. I have researched a Pentland family also from County Down, mostly Grey Abbey and Kircubbin area. Many of these folks emigrated to Canada, mostly Amherst Island area. A Thomas Pentland in my database was baptized in Kircubbin Presbyterian Church in 1794. He was the son of Samuel Pentland. Hope this is of some help.
