We are related somewhere along the line as my Grandfather, John Joseph Peers was my Grandfather and his father was John Francis Peers. They are descended from Dixie Peers and Sarah Batten. My mother was Laura Peers and she had a sister Joan Peers, a brother Donald Peers and another brother John Peers. They are all dead now. Many descendants still live in the Boston area but not all. I got most of this information from my first cousin, Jack Peers son of John Peers mentioned above. He lives in Maryland now.
