Was browsing the Patterson board and came across your message. I just posted a message bout you7r family. We were traveling from Jackson to Natchez, Ms. last week down the Natchez trace Parkway, stopping along the way at each historical marker, when we came across one for Grindstone Ford. The makre stated that Daniel Burnett had a mill and Inn at this point on the trace. We walked back into the woods along the old trace and came across a cemetery, much overgrown and many stones covered or illegible. Found graces for John Patte5rson, Jane Patterson, Florence Patterson and two marked as sons of J.H. and L.H. Patterson. Also found two markers to the side, one with the last name of Morriss. Since my last name is Morris, I became curious as to the identity of the people buried there. Someone needs to do some clean-up of this site so that the markers can be seen better. And some mention as to the family buried there needs to be made by the park dept. David Burnett'ds name is the only one mentioned at the site. If you have any info on the Morriss buried there, please let me know. Hope this info helps you.
