Hi All!

I am trying to track down a bit more about my family. My gg-grandparents were Joe and Marzella Parrish. There is some confusion about Joe's real name. Some documents show Joseph, others Josiah, some formal documents he is just Joe or J. P. Marzella's name is spelled a myriad of ways from Marzella, Marzilla, Marcelle, and Mary (I know even with all the variations it's the same couple because of the children's names). Unfortunately, it is like the two just materialized fully formed.

This is what I know about them:
Joe was born in 1849 and died in 1922. According to one census, they were married in 1876. Joe is from North Carolina but I don't know where. He spent most of his married life in Wake, Edgecombe and Nash counties in NC. Although he died in 1922, I cannot find a death certificate for him.

Marzella was born in Franklin county, NC in 1859. I have found a copy of her death certificate but the person who reported the death and helped fill out the death certificate, my great-grandfather, did not know her parent's names. She died Christmas Eve 1933.
