Surnames: Palmer
Well that could very well be a possibility. Here is what I know about Andrew Jackson Palmer b. May 9, 1815, he states on census forms born in Rutherford Tennessee. He states his parents were born in TN as well. However, TN was not a state until 1803 was it? I have found him living next to Edmund T Palmer b. 1810 in Forsyth Co. Ga on the 1850 Census and thought that Edmund might be a sibling.

Andrew's children were:
Margaret Elizabeth
Stephen A (?)
John A (?)
Susan L
JOSEPH CICERO
FRANSINA S
SARAH Jane
WILLIAM JACKSON

I have speculated the same theory of naming children after parents or siblings but have found not connection to a Stephen or John Palmer yet.

Andrew's son Stephen had an odd middle name that started with an A, that I thought might have been a surname of perhaps Andrew's or Sarah Sandlin Palmer's families?

Any help appreciated. I am at a brick wall on this one.
Thanks,
Lesley
