Delane, I believe William Henry Spikes was the only son of Joel Spikes and Julia Ann Nobles. Joel Spikes was killed in battle at 2nd Manasas, also called 2nd Bull Run, August 26, 1862 at Manasas, Virginia. His wife never remarried and in later life lived with William and Elizabeth. William Henry Spikes had one sister. Her name was Lucretia Spikes. She was the second wife of Elizabeth O'Berry's uncle, Wilson Conner O'Berry. Lucretia was born July 10,1860 and died May 31, 1882 and is buried in Paulk Cemetery in Atkinson County.
