Hi Elizabeth,

We may very well be connected, but I cannot find a direct link.

My great-grandparents were Neil Harkins & Mary Duffy who were married in Greenock, Scotland in 1858. Neil was born in Ireland, Mary in Scotland abt 1840.

Neil's parents were Hugh Harkins and Rose McFasdyen, both from around Cranford, Co. Donegal, Ireland. An old family journal indicates the Harkins were related to the Gallagher's and McGarvey's.

Mary's parents were John Duffy and Jane Murphy. They lived in Greenock, but were born in Ireland. Related families include Wards and Brennen.

Neil and Mary Harkins immigrated to Philasdelphia abt 1860. They had 15 children, including a daughter Ella. She married Edward Gallagher abt 1925 and lived in Conshocken, PA.

I cannot find a John Harkins nor Mary Gallagher, and I have not been able to trace any descendants to Mass.

My tree is on Ancestry.com: Johnson-2010A

Thanks!
