I am one of over a thousand Monti's on the Island of Ischia :). Each clan goes by a different name....a nick name that distinguishes one Monti from another. Its a common name like Smith. We are called "pasta e fave" and lived in the same villa in casamicciola (Corso Vittorio Emanuele) for over a hundred years~however the name originated from up north in Tuscany according to my great great grandfather.
