First, I'm sorry for not responding. I was unaware that there had been any further questions. In case you are wondering, I do know who George Keels Mitchum's parents are. I am 100% sure his father was Cornelius Mitchum who was born in 1795 and died 1868. I believe he was born in Clarendon County, SC and died in Williamsburg County, SC I have a copy of Cornelius's will which his son George was the executor of. At this time, I strongly believe based on the will that they lived on land located along what is now the Thurgood Marshall Hwy in an area I've always heard called Cedar Swamp. His mother was Martha "Patsy" Guess. I know much less about her. I have also found that George's grandfather was Eleazar Mitchum who was born in 1771. I also have information about George's wife Alice if you want that as well. Hope this helps.
