I realize this is an old thread, but am also trying to find information on my Grandfather, Michael Miroshnichenko (Miro).

He is from Poltava, Ukraine. I was told his father was a groundskeeper for a large estate in Poltava. His mother (a Drobot), was a homemaker. I know my grandfather was a lieutenant in the army, around 1920's.

He was a member of the Ukrainian National Choir. When the choir came to perform in New York in 1926, he stayed in the US, settling in Chicago. As best as I can tell, he came alone. Although I'm pretty sure I found his brother, who lived in Boston (never had any children). You mention Adelaida was an opera singer, which is the only connection I see between us (music), but maybe this little bit of information will help.
