My GGGrandparents were Elias Browning and Nancy Jane Miles. Nancy was married 3 times, 1st was Key, 2nd was Pate, 3rd was Elias Browning.
Her parents were Alexander Miles & Susan Mahaley Mathis married Oct 17, 1849
Other children I know by this marriage are
James Alexander Miles maried 1st Bunch, 2nd Amanda Pate, 3rd Maggie Hamilton.
Mary Catherin Miles married Charley Hiten
Miriah Martha married Alfred Engles

A cousin of mine told me a few years ago that she made a trip to Stone Co. Ark and believe they found the graves of Susan Mahaley Mathis Miles. Next to it was baby Bird Key by Nancy 1st marriage, and along the side of Susan was Marry Ann Martha Miles b: Aug 25, 1780 d: July 25 1853.
She thought this may be Alexander's mom.

She told me Alexander died when he fell from a wagon and broke his neck in Washington Co. Ark while traveling from Stone Co. Ark to Oklahoma. Also, Alexander had a brother named John Miles who was shot and killed in White Co. Ark.

The Mormon site (FamilySearch.com) has Alexander's parents as William Miles and Jane Scott. Can anyone confirm this?

I am looking fo more information on the Miles, Mathis, & Jane Scott families. They are believed to be Cherokee Indians. Were all these families Indians, White or other?
