Neutrebbin is very close to the German/Polish border. It is in the Brandenburg Province, about 22 miles southeast of Bad Freienwalde, Germany. I found this business listing for Neutrebbin:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/werner-mielenz-kfz-instandsetzung-ne... that shows a Werner Mielenz' car garage or dealership. Below my 2nd great grandfather's name (Kurz) on the ship manifest are the names of a man and a woman. The woman's maiden name was also Kurz and she was just 5 years older than my 2nd great grandfather. I don't have any written proof, but I believe she was his sister. She and her husband listed Neutrebbin as the last place they had lived before boarding the ship to America. My 2nd great grandfather gave the region in which Neutrebbin is located as his place of birth, but wasn't specific about the town's name. William F. Mielenz married a younger sister of my 2nd great grandfather. By the 1870's, all of them (my 2nd great grandfather, the man and woman he had traveled with to the U.S., and William F. Mielenz and his wife, my 2nd great grandfather's younger sister) had moved to a small township in Nebraska. When were your Frank and Herman born?
