My 2xgreat grandfather's sister, Emma Kurz/Kurtz was married to a William F. Milienz. I have recently found information that suggests Emma may have been born in the village of Neutrebbin in Brandenburg Province in Germany. She and her husband arrived separately and were married soon after arriving in St. Louis in 1868, he was 22 and she was 21 years old. There are people still living in Neutrebbin today with the last name Mielenz. Do you know where your Frank and Herman Mielens came from?
