Kathy,
Thanks for all the information you have forwarded to me. As you know, since receiving your information we've been able to determine that Walter McFarland was indeed born in Bristol, Maine as was your Susan McFarland and her daughter Emily Rackliff (Radliff).
Based upon Susan and Walter's birth dates, marriage places and my studies of the census' from 1790 to 1840 in Bristol, Maine I am leaning towards concluding Andrew McFarland as their father. He and Robert McFarland are the only McFarlands that were in Bristol throughout the birth years of their children. However, Andrew has the only household with both a daughter and a son consistently in the age groupings of your Susan and my Walter. It would not suprise me to learn Susan's son Andrew, your 3g-grandfather, was named after his Grandfather. I also came across information leading me to believe Andrew was born in Boothbay, ME.
Please keep in mind, I'm also interested in anything you learn about Ezekiel Davis, Susan's 2nd Husband. She married him about the time Walter & Martha's daughters were teenagers. It's interesting to note two of Walter's daughters married Davis' men. Both of these girls along with their husbands and two of their brothers relocated to the Lewiston, Auburn, Turner area.
Hopefully, we'll make more progress soon.
