It appears that John McDow was an ancestor of mine as well. My Brother and I have searched many years for anything regarding Asa McDow, and John is named in a few things. My Father was James Asa McDow, and my first name is Mary. I was named after my greatgrandmother, or others named Mary. My Dad, before his death told me to check Stephenville, Erath County, and sure enough my Mother-in Law found quite a bit of information.

We still have some work to do to trace the persons in Erath County back. Any hlep would be appreciated.
